US base oils exports to Africa fell to a five-month low in June amid a pause in arbitrage flows to Nigeria.Base oils exports of 68,150bl (9,600t) to Africa in June fell from more than 180,000bl in each of the three months to May, government data showed.Exports got a boost during those months from a steady flow of arbitrage shipments of Group I and Group II base oils to Nigeria.Base oils exports to the West African country fell back to 12,000bl in June, from more than 200,000bl in April and in May.The pause in flows lasted a month, with another arbitrage shipment moving to Nigeria in July.Exports to South Africa fell to 55,470bl in June, down from more than 65,000bl in April and in May.Exports of 347,100bl to the country in the first half of the year were up 89pc from 183,360bl during the same period last year. .US’ June base oils exports fall
