Vibra Energia displaced ICONIC Lubricants as Brazil’s largest lubricant supplier in June for the first time in five months.

Vibra Energia, formerly known as BR Distribuidora, accounted for more than 23pc of Brazil’s total lube consumption in June, according to IBP.

The share was up from 22.5pc in May and the highest in five months.

Brazil’s lube consumption fell by 5pc in June to 85,370mᶟ (75,620t).

Industrial oils consumption fell by 3pc to 20,650mᶟ. Sales of heavy-duty engine oils (HDEO) dipped by 14pc, and passenger car motor oils (PCMO) by 6pc.

Vibra Energia boosted its share of the smaller volume of industrial oils to more than 26pc of the total, up from closer to 23pc in May. The higher portion countered a drop in its share of HDEO sales.

ICONIC Lubricants’ market share fell back below 23pc of total lube sales in June, from more than 26.5pc in May.

The June share was its lowest in five months and reflected a drop in its sales of industrial lubricants from a nine-month high in May.

MOOVE boosted its market share to more than 21pc of total sales in June, from less than 20pc the previous month.

The June share was the highest since 2019. It reflected a rise in its share of industrial, HDEO and passenger car engine oil sales.
