Petronas Lubricants International (PLI) said it signed a memorandum of understanding with Pentas Flora to explore opportunities in the re-refined base oils production industry.

“PLI strengthens its commitment to sustainability by partnering with Pentas, an organisation specializing in re-refining used motor oil and waste management,” PLI said in a statement.

“The MOU that was signed by Managing Director of Group Base Oil, PLI, Zahira Sughra Zainuddin and Group Executive Director of Pentas, Oon Kin Seng, outlines collaboration principles, laying the foundation for both organisations to finalize terms through definitive agreements, covering discussions on supply, technological development and RRBO (re-refined base oil) production,” PLI said.

“This partnership aims to enhance the supply, technological development, and production of re-refined base oil,” Pentas said in a statement.

Malaysia-based Pentas specializes in used-oil waste management services, including production of re-refined base oils.
