Castrol BP Petco was Vietnam’s largest base oils importer in July for the fourth time in five months, with its share of shipments staying higher than usual.The joint venture between BP and Vietnam Petroleum Corp accounted for around 21pc of the country’s total base oils imports in July, provisional customs data showed.The share edged up from the previous month and was close to the blender’s more-than 21pc total share of Vietnam’s imports in the first seven months of the year.The share was up from around 18pc in 2022.Vietnam’s base oils imports of close to 20,000t in July edged down from more than 21,000t in June but rose from year-earlier levels for the second time in three months.Chevron Lubricants Vietnam was the country’s second-largest base oils importer in July with a share of more than 18pc of the total.Idemitsu Lube Vietnam was the third-largest importer in July. Its share of around 12pc of the total rose from less than 4pc the previous month.Shell Vietnam was the country’s fourth-largest base oils importer and TotalEnergies Marketing Vietnam the fifth largest.
