Castrol BP Petco was Vietnam’s largest base oils importer in May for the third time this year as its import volume rose to the highest in more than a year.The joint venture between BP and Vietnam Petroleum Corp accounted for more than 25pc of Vietnam’s total base oils imports in May, provisional customs data showed.The share was up from less than 20pc in April and outpaced its total share of close to 20pc of total imports in the first five months of the year.Vietnam’s base oils imports rose in May to an eleven-month high of 22,500t.Shell Vietnam was the country’s second-largest importer with a share of more than 12pc of the total, up from close to 7pc the previous month.Vietnam Lubricants and Chemicals (Vilube) was the country’s third-largest importer in May with a share of less than 12pc of the total.
