Europe’s lube demand fell for a thirteenth month in September as an ongoing slide in consumption in Germany and France countered rising demand in the Mediterranean region.Lube consumption of around 200,000 t fell by 5pc in September from more than 215,000t during the same month a year earlier, government and industry data showed.Demand rose by almost 30,000t from August amid a typical seasonal pick-up in consumption after a lull during the summer months.The rise in demand lagged the more-than 36,000t increase in consumption in September 2022 from the previous month.The volume was derived from eight countries in Europe, including its four largest markets.Lube demand fell in September because of a 17pc dip in Germany’s consumption and a 10pc drop in demand in France.Ongoing demand weakness in those markets contrasted with a sustained recovery in lube consumption in Italy and Spain..Asia’s September lube demand rises.Latin America’s Sept lube demand falls
