Germany’s lubricants supply fell in April to its third-lowest level in three years, cutting the country’s base oils requirements.Germany’s lubricants production and imports combined fell to 140,900t in April, government data showed.The volume fell from 172,190t in April and by 25pc from the same month a year earlier. The year-on-year contraction was the eleventh in a row.Supply was lower than that volume in December 2022 and January this year. The lowest volume before then was in April 2020, when lockdowns in Europe slashed economic activity and lube demand.The 26pc fall in domestic lube output outpaced the 16pc drop in imports.Output of process oils fell by 40pc in April and metalworking fluids by 33pc.Production of transformer oils remained the outlier, rising by 28pc in April.
