Australia’s lubricating oil demand rose in April for a ninth month amid surging consumption of industrial oils.The rise in demand and the strength of industrial oils consumption contrasted with weaker demand in southeast Asia, especially for industrial oils.Lube demand of 24,100 kilolitres (21,350t) in April was down from 27,400kl the previous month but rose by 3pc from year-earlier levels, government data showed.Demand got support from a 30pc rise in consumption of industrial oils.
